Because I have seen too many screenshots of Ma Nan's golden sentences on Weibo, I have a rebellious mentality and feel that it is only a beautiful manga based on golden sentences. It was not until my girlfriend sent me the resources that I began to agree to watch this film. I have to say that my previous paranoia almost made me miss a good drama.
It has the bizarre brain holes, bizarre style of painting, protagonists with many shortcomings, and satire on social phenomena. However, the above points are well described as divine dramas, eg.rick and morty, otherwise they are cult films. Fortunately, Ma Nan is the former. The protagonist Ma Nan is a former star, immersed in his former glory and unable to extricate himself. He has no self-control and is stubborn and willful. He is a drug addict and promiscuous, but deep down he is a good person. This sounds quite ironic, but in fact, we are all people full of shortcomings, so we are more frank and direct, and resonate with some golden lines of poisonous chicken soup. Ma Nan's imperfect and sometimes disappointing and hateful protagonist, like his book, brings comfort and companionship to more lonely people.
It's not just the protagonist Ma Nan that is so contradictory, every other character has a complex personality. The workaholic agent looks greedy for money, but has been loyal to the horse man for decades; Todd looks like a waste person, but he actually has a kind heart and unrestrained creative inspiration; Mr.Penutbutter is perfect under the camera No shortage, but he is too obsessed with fame... In addition to the complexity of the characters, the whole drama is also very sharp in the satire of various phenomena. For example, the brainless worship of soldiers; the misinterpretation of information by the media, the neglect of really important information, the tracking of entertainment news; the decline of physical books and so on. Of course, the golden sentence of seeing through life on which it is famous cannot be missed.
After reading the counter-examples of their tree, I feel that I can't be reduced to such a person in the future, listen to some golden sentences, and work hard to change the status quo, never too late.
