BoJack the Horseman is certainly an iconoclastic male protagonist, especially in the cartoon world. Contrary to the image of an excellent hero who is upright and works hard and finally succeeds, he is frustrated and lazy to do nothing and fail in a mess. However, he unexpectedly won the love of countless audiences, and successfully became a dark horse because of his own failure.
Broken family of origin, tragic childhood experiences, short-lived fame, and then a long period of loneliness, intimacy is always out of reach. A horse man's life may not be enough to trigger our sympathy, but enough to trigger our empathy.
