To grow is to learn to face your true self and to face all the happiness, loneliness and pain along the way. By the end of the film, Greg begins to get to know Rachel after her death. He opened the books on the shelf for the first time and found that each book was engraved with Rachel's inner story. Cutting books and making movies are both ways to express inner feelings. Everyone has their own youth and rebellion. Although the process will be painful, the important thing is that we can go in the right direction in the end.
