Can people get past the law (spoilers)

The film is roughly about the male protagonist, a private detective, who received a commission. The client's deceased husband was a prominent, rich and powerful, and the client found a roll of 8mm film when sorting out her husband's belongings, which was the process of a girl being tortured and killed. The client wanted to know whether the film was real or fake. In this regard, the male protagonist launched an investigation.
The theme of the film is probably to expose the dark side of society and human nature. A high-ranking person spends a lot of money to customize such a pornographic and violent film because of personal preference; (He did it because he could.) The photographer who produced it regards it as art and is sought after by some people; The sm person with the unbelievable expression during the torture; and the male protagonist, the male protagonist that puzzles me the most.
In the first two-thirds of the film, I generally understand the psychology of the male protagonist. Let's put it this way, he wants to know the truth, he wants to track down the killers, and he wants to bring these abusers to justice. But the tape used as evidence was destroyed, and the client committed suicide. The only witness was himself, and only himself could do something for the dead girl.
The director gave such a dilemma. The male protagonist is very conscientious, and his conscience makes him unacceptable that the murderers are allowed to go unpunished like this; but on the other hand, he has crossed the law and executed lynching himself as an arbitrator, which is unacceptable in my opinion. Yes, some people are extremely evil, but they are hidden in the shadows and cannot be punished by the law. But what did the male protagonist do, he went to kill.

Whether he went to do something to make up for the girl, or just pulled away, he was uneasy in the end. I don't believe that ordinary people can comfort themselves in conscience after killing people, because he is a bad person, he has done such tyrannical things to others, and it is right for me to kill him. If people think like this, it's really scary.

In any case, it is unforgivable for people to destroy their own kind, no matter what the reasons are. Ordinary people can't accept themselves after killing people. How do you convince yourself that killing is done out of justice? When it comes to the death penalty, they try to avoid letting the executioner know that he is a "murderer" and take various measures, but he clearly knows that he has killed someone, so how can he blame himself from time to time. If this is the case, there is no need for the state's violent organs to carry out such actions as execution. Let the victim or his family come and give the murderer a shot or a needle. But is that possible? Not psychologically, even if the murderer did unforgivable things to himself or the people around him.

Maybe what I've always understood is that there are good and evil in human nature. I believe in good without reason, and naturally I also believe in evil without reason. If you observe children, you will find that children are selfish, greedy, willful and cruel. They can also grab worms and moths and crush them in their palms with smiles on their faces. Of course, it can be said that they have not been plastically guided by social moral education, but because of this, we can see the cruel side of the beast in everyone's heart, and morality binds the cage to prevent the beast from rushing out to harm people. So when the average looking guy said I did it because I liked it, it didn't surprise me at all. Who said that wicked people must look fierce and wicked, and those who do such dehumanizing and cruel things are monster faces? what logic.

So what I can't understand the most at the end of the film is what the male protagonist is looking for? What are you trying to find from the murderer? From his almost frantic expression, to his tense nerves, that porn shop owner was right, the demon walked towards him and he was in hell. I always felt that the beast in the male protagonist ran out, let him beat those villains, let him show all the tyranny and sadism in his heart at once. He called the porn maker to the place where the girl was murdered and told him to tell the whole thing - here I'm all about wtf what the hell is he doing. Why does he need to know so detailed? Is he simulating the picture in his mind while listening? Does he really think that these people are going too far to treat a girl who has no injustice and no enmity like this, or is disgusting and resentful while satisfying himself Inner voyeurism and sadism.

He even justified the killing. Because the mother of the girl you tortured asked me to do! She gave me permission! I had her instigation and I had a legitimate reason to kill! Gosh, how I felt at the time was...indescribable.

So I was so confused to the end. After killing everyone, the male protagonist was injured and went to the hospital. After he was cured, he went home and saw that his daughter and wife were still there. He rushed to his wife and cried and said: save me. To be rescued from despair, or to be rescued from the arms of the devil that he has fallen into. Those villains were not discovered and punished by the law, and neither were the male protagonists. He sent money and letters to the mother of the murdered girl, and he was at home with his wife and daughter like an ordinary person.

He didn't even turn himself in. He didn't do good deeds, he killed people! The whole person was not well at that time, okay? Although legal punishment does not necessarily achieve the goal of educating people and making people learn to repent, but he didn't even admit to killing himself. This does not mean that he himself is telling himself what he did Is it the right thing to do? Or did the director want to convey such a message?

The first person to be killed by him said: you cant do it. look at you, big fucking hero, you pussy.
The male protagonist is both a brave man and a coward.

However, some of the details of the film are in place and touched my heart. After the client knew that her husband had done such a thing, she hung up the phone and looked at the portrait of her husband on the wall, as if she was startled and shivered. Her expression was like: Oh my god, I never knew such a person.

Yes, these secret and dark places, you never know, but they are right beside you.
