1. This movie is a bit like "Life is Beautiful", both use humor to tell the touching events of World War II. But "Life is Beautiful" has a long foreshadowing before it tells about the war; "Monuments Guard" cuts right to the point without foreshadowing. As the film is trying to convey, it's not about making the audience cry at the end, but about letting the audience know that these people have contributed.
2. The humor in "Life is Beautiful" is basically straightforward humor, while a lot of humor in "Guardian of Monuments" is American humor, which needs to be pondered or some American culture needs to be understood. Of course, if the translation skills of the subtitle team can't translate these American humors, I'm very sorry for this movie.
3. The rhythm of "Life is Beautiful" is more in line with the ideas of Chinese people, and the rhythm of "Guardian of Monuments" is more regional and more in line with the American rhythm. After watching George Clooney's early "Three Kings" and other works, you will find that the rhythm and humor of this film are very similar to "Three Kings".
4. "Life is Beautiful" is about fatherly love, while "Guardian of Monuments" is about great love. Usually, when people talk about father's love, they stick to the truth, and when it comes to big love, they feel a little false.
5. This is the second part (besides "Life is Beautiful") that presents the story of World War II in a humorous and touching way.
Personally, I think the film is good, and it is very memorable after watching it.
