The Wolf Brothers and Sisters Fight the Landlord: Aftermath of the finale of "Game of Thrones"

Although there is a lot of scolding on the Internet, I think this ending is acceptable.

Of course, the overall plot of this season is indeed very misleading, but based on the unstoppable plot that has collapsed in the previous episodes, this ending is now a very "Game of Thrones".

The following contains spoilers, so be careful.

I deduced this ending in my last 3 guesses about the finale of Game of Thrones :

The Iron Throne, a symbol of imperial power, was completely destroyed, and Westeros welcomed the era of democracy. ... If so, the Iron Throne will be the history of Westeros, and the person who records the history is Bran the "Sky Eye".
This man in a wheelchair for eight seasons may be the ultimate winner of this Game of Thrones - the founding father of the Westeros Democratic Republic.

That's true.

The queen died, Jon Snow, who was originally qualified to inherit the throne, became a prisoner, and the Iron Throne was burned to scrap by the dragon's anger.

In this case, who is king to do more good than harm to everyone?

Russell mentioned at the beginning of A Theory of Power: People have many desires, two of which are the most important: the desire for power and the desire for honor.

Of all the people involved in the decision, only Sam had the least, if not none, absolute desire for power.

But Sam is a scholar and is obviously not suitable for running the country. A more important reason is that Sam's relationship network is too weak.

Bran doesn't seem to have any desire for power either, but when the little devil asks him:

Bran replied:

What is "playing a pig and eating a tiger"? Bran is.

Many people think that Bran is not qualified to be the new king. In fact, he is the best candidate for the founding father of the Republic of Westeros.

First, he knows history.

Most of the emperors who went down in history, especially the founding emperors, were "historians".

For example, the rulers of the Sui and Tang dynasties learned from the dictatorship of the gatekeepers in the late Han, Wei and Jin dynasties, implemented imperial examinations, and changed the system of officials.

For example, Zhao Kuangyin, Emperor Taizu of Song Dynasty, formulated a national policy of emphasizing civility and neglecting military affairs according to the historical situation of the separation of vassal and towns since the end of the Tang Dynasty.

For example, the Ming Dynasty saw the devastating consequences of the Song Dynasty's external weakness, so it never compromised on external issues.

Another example is the Taizu of this dynasty. His first job was as a history teacher in an elementary school, and later he became an administrator in the library of Peking University.

History is a mirror. Looking at history, you can see the strengths and weaknesses of the ancients, and then find places to learn from. The policy formulation of each dynasty and generation has more or less learned from the experience and lessons of the previous dynasty.

Only by taking history as a mirror can we make great efforts to govern.

In the whole of Westeros, is there another person who knows more about the past history of this land than Bran?

no.

Second, Bran has no children.

This is a question that Sansa asks when the little devil recommends Bran to be the new king.

The little devil easily solved this problem:

All the disputes in the whole play revolve around the symbol of power, the "Iron Throne". When the Iron Throne disappeared, the system of power changed: hereditary became electoral.

The reason why the other lords agreed with Bran to rule the country was because they all saw the long-term benefits of this system.

If it is a hereditary system, they can only be the small lords of a certain area for generations, and the electoral system means that each family has the opportunity to become the next generation of rulers, and the next generation of rulers.

The emperor took turns to do it, and this year came to my house.

This is just a small change to the rules of Game of Thrones. Ordinary civilians still have no counter-attack channel, and the players on this power table are still these big families.

If so, why not agree?

In the end, Bran could bring about a generation of peace.

A new country waiting to be rebuilt needs a long period of time to restore its vitality. During this time, the entire country must maintain absolute peace, and the people can rest and recuperate.

If other lords are elected as the new king and cannot get overwhelming support, there is a possibility that the riots will continue. Throughout the entire play, only Bran has this ability to maintain stability.

There are three reasons:

1. Sansa declares the independence of the North.

After Bran was elected, Sansa still insisted on the independence of the North. This was not stubbornness, but a clever move after comprehensive consideration.

Just think: If someone agrees on the surface and suddenly commits a coup d'etat behind the scenes, Bran, a person who can't take care of himself, has no power to fight back.

Once the coup d'état is successful, Sansa, as a local lord, either acquiesces in the status of the coup d'etat, or avenges her brother and becomes a traitor.

It is difficult for a traitor to have a strong appeal, let alone a matter of public revenge.

And after the independence of the North, if this happens again, Sansa can use her status as the king of a country to justly avenge her brother.

Therefore, independence in the north is actually a restriction on other local regimes.

2. Jon Snow was dispatched to continue working as a night watchman outside the North.

Ostensibly, to avoid war:

In fact, Snow himself knew that the reason was ridiculous.

The real reason is not so simple.

Everyone in Westeros knows that north of the North is the land of the wildlings and the White Walkers. Now that the White Walkers are dead, that vast and mysterious land is the kingdom of the wildlings.

Jon ended up leaving Winterfell with Tormund and heading north.

It looks like he's been exiled, but with the admiration of Tormund and the wild people for him, Jon doesn't know what kind of fairy life he will live there, and sooner or later he will become king.

3. Erya went to the west to develop the new continent.

When Snow said goodbye to her sisters, Erya said that she would not go back to her hometown.

Sansa also pretended to be surprised: where do you want to go?

Erya said:

The mysterious Westworld has always been a place Erya yearns for, and she has expressed her desire to visit there several times before.

Now that the general situation is set, the "to do list" in her heart has been completed, and she can finally do what she likes.

As an explorer with a deep background and strength, Erya likely discovered the New World in western Westeros.

Even if she doesn't establish a regime there herself, she can completely hand over the New World to any of the other brothers and sisters to manage.

A few years later, Westeros has formed such a pattern:

Leader of the Six Kingdoms: Bran.

Queen of the North: Sansa.

Savage King: Snow.

King of the West: Erya.

Game of Thrones turned out to be a battle of landlords played by the wolf brothers and sisters.

Poor mother dragon, got the wrong character from the beginning:

Obviously from a landlord family, he had to pretend to be a leader of the proletariat and lead the serfs to turn over and sing. As a result, the final power battle was too much fun, and he didn't hold back.

I thought of a way to restore the reputation of this season for HBO: announcing the shooting of the ninth season .

The main line of the plot is the restoration of Long Ma.

Snow, who doesn't understand anything, can be resurrected from death with so many knives in his body. Why can't Long Ma be resurrected only after being stabbed by a dagger?

She started from scratch as a powerless outcast, and became a queen who couldn't finish writing the title on ten business cards. The experience during this period was enough for her to make a comeback.

What's more, she also has a dragon, and Asha Greyjoy, the Lord of the Iron Islands, who is loyal to her.

So, the first episode of the ninth season can be written like this:

Westeros has been restored to life after ten years of renovation.
On the surface, the people seem to be living happily, but in fact, everyone is dissatisfied, because Bran, the founding father, is always monitoring everyone.
A bachelor has been arrested for writing a fictional science fiction novel called 1984.
The son of the Grand Maester witnessed all this and fled from King's Landing.
In Winterfell, Sansa I was loved by the people.
But because she was too cuddly, she never found a partner. As she got older, the issue of succession became a pain in her heart.
In order to keep the blood of the Stark family, she decided to compete in the city to recruit relatives.
In Savage Land, Jon fell in love with another woman, and took the initiative to withdraw from the Night's Watch team. His change of heart caused Tormund's dissatisfaction, and a gap appeared in the friendship between the two.
In the mysterious west, Erya became the "prophet" of a small number of aborigines. In her spare time outside hunting, she taught everyone cultural knowledge and formed a leadership team.
Grey Worm has been unhappy since he left King's Landing. One day, he suddenly received a report from his subordinates that a young man from King's Landing was asking to see him.
He immediately met the young man and learned that his father was tortured in prison for writing a novel.
While distressed, Daenerys descended from the sky on a dragon...

The first episode of the ninth season is over.
