warm story

The movie is bland, but not that boring, wanting to stop in the middle. The warmth is always permeated in this story, Hans is warm from beginning to end, Rosa is like a storm but tough and loving, Rudy's company and Max's day and night coexistence, they fill Liesel's life. A plain movie can often make me smile knowingly following its story, and the little warmth in the hard daily life has brought a lot of different moving. For me, the fly in the ointment is the feeling that the film gives me, it is more about depicting the oppression of the times, and people's emotions are also set off for this, and sometimes the progression is not natural (it is said that the original work will be more refined, right. .....whatever, as a junior movie watcher, this movie is still worth recommending~

The adaptation is very faithful to the original

The gap with expectations is too big... Except for the acting skills of Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson, the other characters are mediocre, including the protagonist Little Loli who should be the core. The director also seemed to oscillate between the title of "The Book Thief" and the background of the war. As a result, the two sides were unpleasant, the plot was bland, and always had a taste of being taken for granted. At least the subject of books deserves a better movie.

The Book Thief quotes

  • Narrator: [Narrator/Death] It's always been the same. The excitement and rush to war. I met so many young men over the years who have thought they were running at their enemy, when the truth was, they were running to me.

  • Rudy Steiner: What's an accountant?

Hans Hubermann: Something we will never need.
