I like to hang out in the library, I like the ancient and heavy foreign language booklets on the seventh floor of the library, I like the way the sun shines on it, even if I can't read the title of the book. I like to stumble across a book that catches my eye when I wander. I like the light taste of a book, and I like to touch different pages with my hands, those rough, thin, crisp, and smooth textures.
There will always be people who stick to their conscience, I believe.
The adoptive father covers Max and plays the accordion in the dugout. Liesel was in the dugout telling stories to everyone and reading to Max. Rudy jumps into the ice for Liesel's book. Max sneaks out of the basement to look up at the stars. Death quietly prophesied a catastrophe. Liesel picked up a book from the ruins, the mayor's wife hugged Liesel...
What kind of person is the mayor? The film gives too few shots. I always think he is a kind person, because he loves books!
Compared with many World War II movies, this film feels light, but it can be remembered for a long time.
Many fragments connect a story about books, about love, and about human nature.
All of us will do it, in the war, as human being.
Well, I think it's okay to brush the novel again.
