An Education is set in 1962, the heroine is 16-year-old London schoolgirl Jenny Miller (Carey Mulligan), the only child of conventional, lower-middle-class parents, and the film's title has a double meaning, one scholastic, the other sentimental. First, it refers to her sixth-form work at a Twickenham girls' school, the prize pupil of Miss Stubbs (Olivia Williams), her intense English teacher, and the imminent prospect of winning a place at Oxford that will transform her life. It also refers to the dangerous relationship that begins when David (Peter Sarsgaard), a seemingly wealthy charmer, gives her a lift home in his Bristol sports car one rainy day and that threatens to deflect her disastrously from this liberating future.
Like the Jenny said, "Silly shoolgirls are always getting seduced by glamorous older men". They fell in love, accompany the fantastic and extraordinary journey. Go to Paris and Rome and listen to jazz, and read and eat good food in nice restaurants, and have fun. The older man David can satisfy all the young lady's fantasy and imaginary lifestyle. However, he cheated! He got a wife and babies. From the talk of his wife, it seems that he is really good at that. I mean he is so convincing that even the Jenny's father changed his old shool attitude and let Jenny do what she likes. I am really really a little bit of jealous!!! As a girl, you may think how could I deny such enticement; as i boy, I wonder how could he be so crafty in relationships? The answer may be that we are both too young to know the truth of life.We are not content with the boring side of our regualr life, and question the point of all, education, love, marriage and life. Look at Jenny's behaviors, as a matter a fact, it mirrors ourselves.
I am old, but I am not wise. Jenny eventually got admission to the Oxford through Miss Stubbs' help and herself efforts. And lovely, she fell love again with that teddy body. Most importantly, she still harbor a golden heart and refreshing guts .
