a little stupid

(Probably) First time watching the Coen Brothers, so fun.

This is my short review??, and then gave it five stars. After thinking about it, I cut another star, that is, I have seen some similar "plattery movies", and this one feels that the correlation between the units is too poor (of course, it may also be because my "reading comprehension questions" are not good enough, not summed up).

I also suddenly felt that if I was taken away from the director's skillful technique, I found that this movie was no different from TV series like "Secret No. 9" and "Black Mirror". There are a few other issues too, but in short it's not worth full marks.

But it's still very fun, and I feel the style is very strong. After watching this, I plan to try other works by the famous Coen brothers. Hope for a better experience.

The time-honored "The Ballad of Buster Scrub" once again sings on the uncertain West Wilderness, but the wild and absurd story always happens where there are people. It shows that the Coen brothers have always believed that cruelty and tenderness are in this "human"-centered world law, so one by one common short stories in uniqueness strung this epic long volume about human activities. As we read page by page, we seem to be out of the way and seem to be in the middle of it.

West is full of suprises, and life sucks.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs quotes

  • Buster Scruggs (segment "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs"): [checks his hat after being shot and finds a bullet entry hole on the front and a bloody exit hole on the back] Well... that ain't good.

  • Buster Scruggs (segment "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs"): [after gunning down everyone in the cantina Buster notices a survivor crawling on the floor] It appears the vitals of this lucky son-of-a-gun remain unpunctured. Sloppy shootin' on my part.
