I thought Sousuke and Ponyo would end up with a tragic climax of emotional choices, but it turned out that just a simple nod from the child led to a happy ending. Of course, a five-year-old child with a complex mental baggage is too contrived, but without a wonderful climax, it always feels less flavorful. Take the simple life sketch "My Neighbor Totoro" in the early years as an example, the climax scene of the two sisters looking for their mother at the end can be moved a few times. Therefore, everything that the two children experienced in "Gold" is too smooth, but people don't feel the preciousness of this relationship.
Not to mention the quality of the animation, Grandpa Hayao Miyazaki's imagination is still there, and I expect him to make a magnificent blockbuster.
