In fact, watching this movie before the ending was quite amazing. The first thing that caught me was the depressing doomsday atmosphere. Among most animated movies in theaters, few have such a dull atmosphere.
The second is the character setting of the nine little robots. Although their appearances are almost the same (except for the size of No. 2), their personalities make each of them very unique. Someone said before that the protagonist can be replaced by a human, but I don't think so. Change to a human, the image is fixed, but as a robot, the character creates a different image, the audience has a different understanding of their character, and they have a different image in the audience's mind.
Among them, the snake-shaped robot monster is very bright, just like a rattlesnake uses its tail to attract its prey, the robot monster has a No. 2 skin on its tail to attract other robots, which is scary and bright.
The intention is very clear. No. 1 is the Pope dressed up, and his thoughts are pedantic and conservative. Nine is the one who brings about reform. It is easy to understand, without pretending to be deep and reasonable. There are also problems brought about by the development of science and technology. These are points worth discussing and thinking about. Maybe there are big guys who can see more, that would be nice.
The end result is still too... ordinary. The release of the soul seems to be an expected ending. The hypocritical point is that there is no contrast, and the popular point is that it does not make me happy. It's really a pity, in the first half I was still thinking about why this movie didn't catch on. There was still a bit of a taste of "technology changing the world" before, but there was a soul-returning ceremony at the end, which was a bit anticlimactic. It's really a pity. In fact, the clues that were laid before, for example, the robot monster was originally used to benefit mankind but was used by others. For example, the nine robots are the soul fragments of the doctor. If they can be used well to the end, it may really be the best movie of the year. Good. I still like this movie.
