The world of 'Robot 9' is not hopeless

I have watched too many doomsday movies, and I am basically immune to such topics. But this one is slightly different.

In the dim and almost monotonous colors of "Robot No. 9", the ruins of the world exude a charming dim light, and the little dolls made of coarse cloth flicker with metal eyes, fighting and dying. There was the sound of broken metal breathing everywhere.

A war between humans and machines that has already been told by "The Matrix", what charm is there to appear on the screen? Is it just because the protagonist has been replaced by a powerful machine or a human with superior endowment for a weak doll?

The scientist in the film - the initiator of the end of the world - said this when his life was about to end: Our world is dying, but life must go on. His method is not to create more powerful robots to destroy the previously out-of-control robots, because he knows that technology has become a pretext for any evil, and technology will become more and more unstoppable by the creation of evil. So the last thing he did was make his last doll, and then, give it his soul, like the previous eight.

If Robot 9 wasn't a cartoon, I'd definitely consider it the most crap doomsday movie I've ever seen. The faith of mankind has long since collapsed in the two wars of the last century. The dullness of human nature makes us doubt each other and lose the force of redemption, not to mention the ethereal soul. But "Robot No. 9" is a cartoon, and its innocent hope makes me look at it with solemnity, even a bit of awe. The death feeling of being caught in the throat by a huge force permeates the whole movie, so the special kind and warm relationship between the little dolls has an extraordinary meaning - it is the presentation of the best human character, and It is full of saving power!

In the nine dolls of the scientist, you can see his nine kinds of human nature, No. 1 rests on his laurels, traditional and conservative, No. 2 is good at invention and creation, No. 3 and No. 4 have super memory, No. 5 is hesitant, No. 6 loves to study, No. 7 is agile and decisive, No. 8 is a loyal guard, and No. 9 is courageous and never gives up hope. The latter is the spirit that supports the continuous continuation of life, and is also the key to the reversal of the situation. Like Neo, the remainder of that perfect system gives infinite possibilities for a dead end. With this link, human nature begins to be complete.

Sacrifice and dedication are two words that make people laugh at the mention of it now. One of the words that No. 1 likes to say is that someone has to be sacrificed. Of course, for many people, this person must not be himself. But the author obviously wants to tell the audience that even the most selfish person, when he has a human soul, may sacrifice himself in a pinch, which is an inescapable treasure of human beings compared to technology and machinery. In the end, No. 1, who cherished his life the most, sacrificed himself. And the dolls who died in the battle to destroy the robots carried human souls to heaven, bringing rain that would never last.

Perhaps, the world is really not hopeless, as Number 9 believes. In X-Men, Sa Ji asked Mao Yi, why can't you kill humans? Mao Yi was so anxious that she couldn't answer, and Qi Feeder smiled and answered for her, because someone would be sad for the person who was killed. Compassion, courage, curiosity, wisdom, mutual aid, dedication, and of course hope, with these, life has a reason to go on.

"Robot No. 9" premiered on September 9, 2009. It was adapted from the award-winning short film of the same name. The producer has the name Tim Burton. His old man really likes this.

In a world where the economy is collapsing and everyone is at risk, let's all have a little more hope.
