Maybe it's because I feel that my age is approaching the mid-life crisis period, and I watched this movie specially today! A scene that I particularly like is a close-up of the sad, helpless and reluctant Mrs. Kramer at the beginning! As a mother of children and a person who has not worked much after marriage, I can understand her sadness and helplessness incomparably! Because I'm thinking the same thing, because we don't just want to be so-and-so's mother, so-and-so's wife, we also want to be so-and-so! Not so-and-so's so-and-so!
The dramatic ending softens the impact of the movie, which is something I don't like enough.
The courtroom scene is very sad to watch. Once both husband and wife are working hard for their own purposes, even the care and homeliness revealed in simple daily conversations become weapons! And their friends, when confronted by the lawyer's questioning, can only be reluctantly taken out of context!
However, Joanna took that step anyway, although it was so painful! Although it seems cruel to leave the child without warning! Because she knew she had to do it! Otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable!
What a good movie, simple yet thought provoking!
