Life is like a cup of Erguotou

Life, like the boundless sea, can destroy a person and save a person. When I first saw the title, I could not help but think of Peter Jackson's "Lovely Bones". After careful taste, I feel that the two works have some similarities in the same purpose. The same little girl's perspective also shows the tragedy of a family, as well as the reality and cruelty of this society. The difference is that the former uses a more "cute" fantasy mode, while the latter directly pulls the viewer into the cold "winter"; the former is an unfortunate little girl who is constantly "searching for herself" and "positioning" after her death , while the latter is through the little girl's experience of finding the missing Zeng Zhiai's father, and finally completes the cruel innuendo from the family to the family and then to the social background.
With an extremely serious and profound attitude, the film allows people to follow in the footsteps of the little girl Dolly to feel and endure the pain and poignancy of the "winter on earth". Dolly, a girl full of hope in her heart, bears the great responsibility of redemption for her father and self-redemption on the way to find her father, a drug dealer. Although her character and destiny have gone through rough waves, she can still be as peaceful as the silent and cold Missouri winter. Although the context of the story is not easy to understand, it can still clearly show the dark reality of "a den of police and gangsters" in the confusion of black and white. However, what really chilled Dolly's heart was her cold-hearted clansmen with the same surname, especially since the status of men and women here was distinct, leaving women only humble, obedient and helpless.
Life finally created Dolly's tough and self-denying character. However, the cold fact of the world's scorching coldness and the warmth of human affection has finally left a deep imprint on the young mind that countless people in the world could not bear to face. In the end, the audience and the little girl Dolly seemed to see hope together, hope not only from the cold hands of the father, but also from the crumpled hard-earned money handed over by the father's accomplices.

Winter's Bone quotes

  • Gail: [after asking her husband to let her use his truck] He said no.

Ree: Did you tell him I'd spring for gas?

Gail: I told him. He still won't.

    Ree: Why not?

Gail: He never says why not to me, Ree, he just says no.

Ree: Man, it's so sad to hear you say he won't let you do somethin' and then you *don't* do it.

Gail: It's different once you're married.

Ree: It really must be. 'Cause you ain't never used to eat no shit.

  • Ree: He might be hangin' around with Little Arthur and them. You think?

Teardrop: You don't wanna go around Little Arthur's askin' them people about anything they ain't offered to talk about. That's a real good way to end up et by hogs... or wishin' you was.
