Jennifer Lawrence, who played the protagonist in "The Hunger Games", played the role of a 17-year-old sister in the film who, in order to survive, looked for her father (corpse) who made drugs alone. Facing indifference and beatings, Lawrence is determined and brave to achieve his goals. In the process of finding her father, Lawrence is all women who come out to contact her, and the people who help her are also women. It is an excellent feminist film.

The people in the American mountains in the film, except for wood, seem to only survive by making and selling drugs. Very realistic.

Winter's Bone quotes

  • Gail: [after asking her husband to let her use his truck] He said no.

Ree: Did you tell him I'd spring for gas?

Gail: I told him. He still won't.

    Ree: Why not?

Gail: He never says why not to me, Ree, he just says no.

Ree: Man, it's so sad to hear you say he won't let you do somethin' and then you *don't* do it.

Gail: It's different once you're married.

Ree: It really must be. 'Cause you ain't never used to eat no shit.

  • Ree: He might be hangin' around with Little Arthur and them. You think?

Teardrop: You don't wanna go around Little Arthur's askin' them people about anything they ain't offered to talk about. That's a real good way to end up et by hogs... or wishin' you was.
