The Devil in the Elevator: Forgiveness is also a relief

It is often said that God has the right to judge the right and wrong of people. It turns out that the devil can also punish the wicked, but the souls it takes away go to hell to find more wicked people for it.

Religion says to forgive others, but it's really hard to forgive someone who has hurt you deeply. Just imagine the man who hit an accident and escaped in the suburbs 5 years ago and lost his beloved wife and children. How to forgive him? He even gave up two lives that had not yet disappeared and chose to escape, which is objectively sinful. Will a note from many years later that says "I'm so sorry" will let the victim get over it all? It's hard.

The devil gave this man a chance to survive and a trial, because he must face the victim directly, the policeman. The evil one believed that the devil's original intention was that instead of bringing the man to justice, it would be better for the victim to end him. After all, sending him to the policeman with his own hands was a chance for revenge. But the police...forgive him, the passage of time and the note of apology have made him completely look away and get rid of the nightmare. For him, life should move on. At this moment, the man is still deeply in self-blame and guilt, waiting for him to be punished by the law and forgiveness of human nature, and what he needs is also relief.

The five people in the elevator, except for the devil, are all guilty. On the surface, the devil punishes these wicked people one by one, but in fact it can be expressed as being devoured by the greedy, vicious, and sinful devil in their hearts. After these people have done too many bad things, they are unwilling to recognize their own nature even when they die, and retribution is a matter of time. Although that man also did bad things, he was tormented for a long time in his heart. Although he could not exchange his lost life, he still got a chance to be reborn.

So, the movie clearly tells the audience that you should reflect more on your actions, recognize your nature, and don’t let the evil factor in your heart occupy your entire brain, and someone will be waiting to judge you.

Out of all the cliches in the film, I'm most disappointed with the Latino guard in the security room. Gotta love it when he started praying.

I didn't guess who the devil was~ It was a little creative and a little far-fetched in the elevator~
