It's the best romance I've seen in a while, thanks to its two leads, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield. In fact, I don't have much approval for CM's blockbuster "Growing Up Education", but the low-key brilliance in this film is very impressive. And with "Social Network", AG's rapid popularity is even more impressive (the delicacy of its eyes and body language is extremely contagious and has unlimited potential). The two leading actors, male and female, are both natural and full in their grasp of the roles. The heroine's tears, the eyes of the two people, and those seemingly inadvertent small movements, the eyes as clear as the bottom of the pool, the hope for love, the carefulness of love, the protection of love, and the pain of separation. It's heart-wrenching (this kind of loving eyes reminds people of Jack's eyes in "Brokeback Mountain", but here, their eyes are brighter and younger. The taste of love is not the same, the pain of love is the same ).
How can Kazuo Ishiguro's style, who once thought of "Leave Traces of the Past", be in the same line as science fiction. After watching the movie, I found out that the so-called science fiction is just a dispensable coat. This coat can be a "clone" of science fiction, and it can be war, plague, secular estrangement, karma, etc., etc. All earthly obstacles. It's still the same old core that's intoxicating and heartbreaking. This kind of tender and low-pitched emotion, like a faint spring, is timeless and long-lasting. Although it does not explode like wildfire, it is more tolerant of chewing. This is indeed the wind of sadness that the original author has always insisted on.
Keira Knightley's role is passable. It's just that this too-big-name face feels a little different when it is sandwiched between CM and AG (when I wanted to make the 05 version of "Pride and Prejudice", CM was just the silly little sister who played for KK).
ps After watching AG's dark roar and struggling, I still have the urge to cry. Add half a star. Five star recommendation.
