"Frutwell Station" tells about the incident in which a black youth was shot and killed by the police at a subway station on January 1, 2009. The film mainly recalls the story of the black man before the accident. A frustrated black guy who had been drug dealers, had been in jail, was often late and was fired, had a girlfriend and a 4-year-old daughter. The film has many details to show the guy’s desire to come back again, such as throwing drugs away. Lost, helping a female customer in the supermarket, caring for a wild dog, mother's concern (also the mother let him take the subway for safety, but accident happened), and the daughter's dependence on him. The film did not accuse the police or race issues. The investigation afterwards only calmly tells the past, so that the audience feels the kind of helplessness of a black person who is incapable, has a previous conviction, and calmly pays attention to the survival of the small person. People think about how to make a person want to change and become a good person, and how society should give them opportunities. It is worth thinking about why we also have the case of a single mother starving to death two little girls. When condemning her, did we think of our own and social responsibilities? Recently, an old Indonesian woman stole a potato and became a defendant. The judge convicted everyone in the audience, including herself. All are torturing the present glamorous society. As long as there is a person who goes astray due to despair in life, this society cannot become a happy, fair and safe society.
Today there are many people who want to change something in the new year. Apart from working hard on their own, please also give me and other people some opportunities.
