Appreciation of Meryl's Strong Woman

I have seen a few Meryl dramas. In middle and old age, Meryl's dramas are usually mothers and strong women. Mother's dedication is like a bridge's last dream, joy like Mamma Mia, sharp like August. I have seen three Meryl movies of three strong women, "Iron Lady", "The Queen Wears Prada", "Washington Post". The three strong women are amazing. But Meryl showed us a different kind of strong woman. Mrs. Thatcher was more powerful. When watching the movie, I felt Mrs. Thatcher's words, as if they were tangible, spewed out of her mouth and hit the table, in the air, hehe, the faces of the people under her. As for the queen who wears Prada, it shows the ability of the elite in the workplace. Compared with Margaret Thatcher, Miranda is more like an idol, and every move exudes charm and confuses a bunch of small fans. During the special period of 2020, when I was bored and hadn't watched a movie for a long time, I stumbled upon The Washington Post. As the publisher of the Washington Post, she had no intention of being weak. As the publisher of the newspaper, she walked in the company with a group of directors, a group of men walked in front of her, and she walked quietly behind. It's not the dream that shines into reality, it's reality that shines into the movie, huh, this is a kind of disrespect. She is a weak strong, but not cowardly. Walking on thin ice, but without hesitation. Compared with the previous two, she is in the process of climbing. When she made a trembling decision, she finally took another step closer to the top of the mountain.

The Post quotes

  • Daniel Ellsberg: Someone said this at some point about why we stayed when we knew we were losing. Ten percent was to help the South Vietnamese. Twenty percent was to hold back the Commies. Seventy percent was to avoid the humiliation of an American defeat. Seventy percent of those boys just to avoid being humiliated? That stuck with me.

  • Fritz Beebe: The company's selling how many shares?

    Kay Graham: 1.35 million shares.

    Fritz Beebe: Price range is?

Kay Graham: Between 24.50 and 27 dollars per share.

Fritz Beebe: Not exactly a huge difference.

Kay Graham: For them! But, you know, the bankers always fiddle with the prices. But, for *us*, that's over 3 million dollars and that represents over 5 years salary for 25 good reporters.
