I thought it was just a simple horror movie, but I didn't expect this movie to seriously move me.
Theron is a prostitute, ugly, strong, and her family has not given her any warmth since she was a child, and she came out to sell her body at the age of 13. Stop cars on the side of the road every day, and provide sex services to men in need in the car. Until one day, with only $5 on her, she wanted to end her life after a drink at the bar, but she didn't expect to meet the person who changed her life there, a rebellious and paperless little girl. She gave her the warmth she had never had before, and it was like she was constantly asking for it. Until she started killing people for all this, even killing a kind old man who wanted to help her.
And she paid all this, and in the end the girl she loved so much just betrayed and abandoned her selfishly.
Twelve years later, she was executed.
I don't care if the emotion is from the same sex, but the crying broken heart under Theron's hard shell touched me deeply. In addition to fully presenting the rude appearance that Vonos has shown the world in court, Theron has injected a softer side to the character, like a beast who has been fighting for years, occasionally stopping for a moment to lick lick the wound. She shows just the right amount of pain and injury that Warnos has endured, which makes for a rich layering throughout the film.
Do you still remember Theron, the beautiful female safe expert in "Breaking the Sky", she paid a lot for this film, gaining weight, teething, freckles, but her performance is really wonderful.
It's a real case, the murder of a road prostitute that made a big splash in the '90s.
Is she a murderous serial killer, or just a victim of this cruel world? I think the movie expresses deep sympathy for that itself.
