A lot of details are very delicate and in place. Adele and Emma went to each other's house and Emma held the exhibition. The feeling was too deep. They are different people, with different backgrounds and worlds, and they can't use the same attitude to the outside world. Face their relationship head on, and it hurts each other.
It's easy to be brought into play, probably because of the long close-up.
