When watching "A Quiet Place 2", I deliberately refreshed the first "A Quiet Place" again. The plot follows the previous one. After her husband sacrificed to protect her family, Evelyn took her three children to avoid the monster's attack, and lived strong in the silent real world.
The whole film has a compact plot, without too many lines, and each scene is centered on the sound. Under the terrifying, thrilling, and silent atmosphere, viewers can face the inner fears of the characters in the play. I originally thought that the plot of the second part was still that parents are a safe haven for children, but the ending of the movie really warmed me up.
Under the silent terror, parents ignore the growth of their children, and family affection is especially precious in the face of selfish humanity.
1. Parents have the greatest protection for their children
In the first part, the heroine Evelyn's husband uses his voice to attract the monster's attention when he sees the monster attacking the child. The child is saved, but this is in exchange for the father's life.
This is a cruel death education. The death of a man makes the wife more determined to protect the children, and also makes the children know what family love is in the face of death. In the face of hunger, oxygen, and monsters, no matter how harsh the external environment is, as long as the family is together, they will have the courage and hope to survive.
Evelyn was afraid that the baby's noise would attract monsters, so she put the several-month-old baby in a soundproof wooden box. In order to prevent hypoxia, oxygen cylinders are also tied outside the box. When being chased by monsters, the scene of Evelyn and her eldest son running with a box is touching.
It is not easy for a woman to survive in peaceful times with 3 children, let alone in a crisis-ridden environment.
Women are weak, but the power of a mother's love is enormous. It can make the mother instinctively draw the attention of the monster to herself at the dangerous moment when the monster devours the child, and the emotion of swearing to protect the family to the death reaches the climax of the whole film.
2. Under the silent terror, the child's growth
The heroine's son and daughter are also growing as they dodge monster attacks. At a young age, the burden of protecting his family was also carried on his shoulders.
The film uses parallel to cross editing techniques to record the growth of the two children respectively. Her daughter can't speak and is deaf. When she accidentally discovered that the sound waves emitted by the hearing aid she was wearing could resist monsters, she helped the people around her save themselves in every danger.
The daughter's stubborn character is particularly like that of her father. She firmly believes that there is a safe place on the other side of the sea. When she and her father's friend arrived at the island by boat, she showed a gratified smile for her persistence.
But the safety of the island is temporary, the monsters came here with the ship, and the peaceful life in the past has become a battlefield where monsters slaughtered everywhere. When her father's friend was about to be eaten by the monster, the girl used her wisdom to kill the monster.
Leonardo da Vinci once said: "Boldness and determination are worth the sophistication of weapons."
Facing the fear of death is an important lesson in growing up. When adults lose their ability to protect them, this moment is also a sign of growing up.
3. Parents are not omnipotent, children can also protect their parents
While the girl was fighting the monster, the camera also switched to the boy. Mother went to find medicine and oxygen, and when she returned to the abandoned factory, she was attacked by monsters. When the mother was weak in front of the monster, the little boy who couldn't even catch a baseball stood up and shot the monster to the ground.
Parents are symbols of maturity, bravery, the whole world of the child, and the child is always in a protected position. But at the end of the movie, when the children found out that the parents they depended on were not omnipotent, they stood up bravely, picked up the swords, guns and sticks in their hands to fight the monsters to the death.
At this moment, the biggest highlights and themes of the film are also shown. It is especially educative for the age of overly spoiling children.
Yu Dan said that all love in this world aims at gathering, and there is only one kind of love aiming at separation, and that is the love of parents for their children. The real successful love of parents is to separate the child from your life as an independent individual as soon as possible. The earlier this separation, the more successful you will be.
Parents are role models for children, and the way parents face difficulties is the attitude of children in the face of difficulties. Therefore, standing beside children, giving them courage and strength, and accompanying them through a wonderful life is the best gift parents can give their children.
