One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, opening the shadow of childhood

In comparison, the movie "The Ghost Baby" introduces the causes and consequences very clearly. At the beginning of the movie, after the murderer Charles Lee Ray was chased by the policeman Mike Norris to a toy store, he found that he had nowhere to go. Suffering from a serious gunshot wound, Charles Lee Lei uttered a spell and attached his soul to a "good boy" toy next to him. The local newspaper finally reported the incident with the mysterious disappearance of the murderer. And the possessed toy was given as a birthday gift to the six-year-old boy, Andy, who lives with his mother, Karen. That night, Karen was unable to look after Andy because of overtime, and Andy was looked after by Karen's friend Maggie. It was just that the doll Chu Qi attacked Miss Maggie in order to watch the news, and Maggie fell to her death in a panic. When Karen returned home and learned of the incident, police officer Mike Norris suspected that the incident had something to do with Andy, because there were very small footprints at the scene. Karen didn't believe this, let alone Andy said that all this was done by a doll, but he didn't doubt the 6-year-old Andy either. The next day, the doll Chuqi asked Andy to take him to his accomplice Eddie Caputo. As a result, Chu Qi killed Eddie Caputo. After the incident, the police imprisoned Andy. Karen took Chu Qi to the house, only to find that Chu Qi was alive, but let him run away. Karen told Mike Norris about this, but he didn't believe it. Until Norris was also hurt by Chu Qi. Finally, Chu Qi wanted to enter Andy's body, he and Karen and Norris became entangled, Norris finally shot Chu Qi in the heart, which killed Chu Qi.
Compared with Chu Qi's cruelty and violence, the more terrible troubles were actually caused by mistrust. Karen's distrust allowed Chu Qi to escape; Norris's distrust kept Chu Qi at large. But also because of this, the movie can continue and be more storytelling. Chu Qi took advantage of this weakness and caused a lot of trouble to the protagonists.
Compared with other killer movies, the killer in this movie turned out to be a possessed ragdoll, seemingly weak, but a cold-blooded murderer. Chu Qi's appearance is weak, but the actual powerful expression effect creates a big psychological gap for the audience, which makes the sense of fear even more distorted and deep-seated.
The murderer living in the doll is not at all muddle-headed, and every person it encounters, it wants to kill them. It is the cruelty of the doll that created a horrible atmosphere. Coupled with music, there was no other movie in that era better than he did.
At the end of the film, when Karen and Norris both realized that Andy was telling the truth from start to finish, Chu Qi was indeed alive and killed so many people. They almost killed Chu Qi. At this time, a police officer came over and asked about the situation. Karen and Norris both said that it was a doll murder. Of course, the police officer didn't believe it. The dramatic scene was that the police officer was immediately killed. Chu Qi grabbed his neck with a sigh of relief, breathless. Norris hurriedly helped him get out of trouble and completely killed Chu Qi. Afterwards, the police officer said helplessly, I believe you, but who believes me?
The pure appearance of the doll is unified with the evil in the heart. In fact, fairy tales are also written by adults, and horror stories are also written by adults. The inspiration they create may be real or dreamy, or bright or evil fantasy and some adult stories they have seen in childhood. But I think the scary thing is not a ghost baby, but a scary human nature.
In fact, this story is generally a game of trust and distrust, and at the same time it expresses the children's aspirations: adults always don't believe children's words.

Child's Play quotes

  • Maggie Peterson: Okay, mister. What do you have to say about this?

    Andy Barclay: About what?

Maggie Peterson: You know what I'm talking about. Turning the TV on, and putting Chucky in front of it, when I told you it was time to go to bed.

Andy Barclay: I didn't do that.

Maggie Peterson: Oh no? Then what did Chucky do? Walk into the living room and turn it on, all by himself?

Andy Barclay: Did you do that Chucky?

Maggie Peterson: Andy! Stop it! Now, get under the covers. Hurry!

    Andy Barclay: But, Aunt Maggie...

Maggie Peterson: Under the covers and not another word!

Andy Barclay: But, I didn't put Chucky in front of the TV.

Maggie Peterson: Okay. Enough, alright? Now goodnight.

    Andy Barclay: Goodnight, Aunt Maggie.

[Maggie leaves. Andy turns to Chucky]

Andy Barclay: I told you she'd be mad if you watched the news.

  • [repeated line]
