Classic must stand up to aftertaste

At first, I was surprised at the 7.0 rating of this film.
It has so many bright spots that amaze me
. The grand scenes, the delicate sci-fi scenes
, the strong loneliness atmosphere and the right sense of horror
, the wonderful ethical torture, and the shining lights everywhere. Human nature...
Is this how everyone treats a sincere work? I feel indignant.

But after thinking about it carefully, I found that my mind was always blank
. Everything happened in such a closed and monotonous space.
Their past disappeared suddenly with the earth, and the future was so unimaginable
except for the thrilling film itself. Stimulating, I can't use the information the film gives me to construct an engaging world
and the ethical torture in the film doesn't seem to be tangled enough to make me think.

Unlike other classic films,
Star Wars made me feel about the universe as a child. Full of longing
"Midnight" makes me terrified of the phone ringing and
even "Avatar" can make me look forward to how real the future movies can be.
They either built a world, or they became a meaningful fable.

I think the regret of "Deep Space Amnesia"
lies in the abrupt script and the failure to build an open world and ending.

Pandorum quotes

  • [Bower sees that his hand is shaking uncontrollably, and he speaks to Payton over the walkie-talkie]

Bower: Payton? Pandorum, you ever felt the symptoms?

Payton: [aghast] Of all the things to remember, why would you pick that? Were you thinking of the Eden mission?

    Bower: What about the Eden?

Payton: You just had to remind me of the biggest fucking catastrophe in space travel, the flight cautionary tale from Hell.

Bower: I remember, didn't they have some kind of hypersleep malfunction?

Payton: Three years into their shift, one of their officers had a psychological breakdown. The doctors referred to it as ODS symptom. The privates, we call it Pandorum. It drove him insane. He became convinced that the flight was cursed. Evil.

    Bower: What did he do?

Payton: He evacuated the ship. He launched them all into oblivion. Five thousand people sent to their death with one push of a button.

  • Payton: I can't remember any of my life before this flight began.
