People who have been frostbitten are no longer afraid of being too cold, and a little warmth can make them fester.
This is Alaska, not Siberia in my impression, even the size of the Xing'an Mountains. Alaska still has snow, forests, beasts, men, women, silence, noise, criminals, and police.
