If it’s hard science fiction, it’s too bad, but after all, it’s a movie that promotes a theme.

After seeing so many discussions about children's shoes, let me get in there too.

I am a science fiction fan. I like to watch all kinds of science fiction movies. The level of science and technology of this one is quite in line with reality, not far from reality, so it looks like a documentary at first glance.

Okay, I'm going to talk about it now. This is a movie. It promotes a theme, so some people are right. If there is no fault mentioned later, this theme may not be finished in 90 minutes.
Indeed, under the circumstances that can completely subvert the so-called scientific world that mankind can imagine and set, what is the life of a group of scientists? How much is the cost of 6 human lives compared to such an advanced question. . . . Everyone may know that, although it is possible for 6 people to go there and come back happily, they found the octopus, and some samples were collected, but the movie is estimated to be several grades inferior. . .

Here is a brief list of faults, hard science fiction:
1. Communication. . . Nima brought a set of antennas, what's the situation? . . I'm a communication player. Even some systems on the ground also have this basic redundancy. . . In addition, there is no satellite relay all the way to Europa. The technology development can be good, but this is not relayed in deep space communication, and the amount of data is not small. You can use the power-saving transmission power to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. OK. I won’t talk about the last data transmission, maybe, since you can directly communicate with the earth in the landing module, it may be possible according to the technology at that time, and the video coding technology (plus compressed sensing) will be improved + more efficient Spectrum utilization rate + NB channel coding + more NB receiving stations on the earth, perhaps satellite array reception, that would be even better + wide deep-space frequency bands, I can still convince myself.

2. Fuel (hydrazine). . . Can you use Europa? You use hydrazine? No need, at least liquid hydrogen must be used. . . I don’t know the others. I at least know that hydrazine is a very backward fuel, even now.

3. Repair. . . For out-of-vehicle repairs, let’s put aside the antenna and forget it and really need to repair it. Everyone is right. It uses electric things. For this point, you can watch NASA’s Hubble repair video. It is definitely electric, and Only in there I found out that in fact, the things of heaven are very particular. Basically, there are not too many sharp and dangerous things in the rest. I really pay attention to sharp objects, but the solution must be based on the design drawings. Yes, this modular thing must be designed to be easy to repair at the beginning of its design. Most of Hubble is easy to repair. Simple is reliable! And why is there a fuel pipe next to the interface of the antenna? Why are fuel pipes so easy to leak? . . The design of things like God will definitely consider these things!

4. The overall plan. . . Is this plan a great leap forward? ! Before going to Europa, I think it must be at least such a step, satellite detector (1) ——> satellite detector (2) ——>...——> unmanned detector (1) (landing) ——> Unmanned detector (2) (landing)...——> Manned detection (maybe the manned aircraft will have to go around in low orbit and then come back, and then land several times, refer to the Apollo plan). This is the process of Apollo. The Soviet Union also came in this way. Although it did not carry people up, the Chinese lunar exploration project also came in this way. This is also the case with the spacecraft technology. Why do you want to venture in!

5. Orbital cabin. . . Why doesn't the orbital module keep people? I do not understand. . . Every time Apollo goes to 3 people, one of them is kept in the orbital module every time, and why the landing module communicates directly with the earth, so a large orbital module can’t be used well!

6 people. . . Needless to say, these astronauts are really hundreds! inside! pick! one! Ah, really. . . But if it is normal, there is no such movie. . .

Europa Report quotes

  • Andrei Blok: What would you do if you get out there and find nothing?

William Xu: Well, even if we found nothing it's an effective discovery.

  • Dr. Samantha Unger: Andrei and James had to do an EVA to repair the system. A bit like performing ballet and rocket science at 125,000 miles an hour.
