Curtis (Michael Shannon) is a construction worker who works very hard to support the family. Fortunately, he has a good relationship with his wife Samantha (Jessica Chastain) and a six-year-old deaf. Daughter Hannah. One day, Curtis was awakened by a very real nightmare. There was a terrifying tornado in the dream. It rained like asphalt and the whole town was razed to the ground. The director set up a huge psychological trap, step by step to bring the audience into the center of the storm, and give everyone a head in the end. The treacherous weather, dreams, psychological dilemmas and omens in the first half are all reminiscent of Peterwell's early mysticism works. Several apocalyptic horror scenes are in place and the soundtrack is also very good. Michael Shannon is an outstanding good actor.
