I originally watched it for the name of a magic movie, but after watching it, I realized that it was not the case at all. Bridge to Wonderland features two teenage kids, eccentric and full of dreams, who communicate in their own unique ways and become best friends. The little boy's original life was not happy. As the only boy in the family, he didn't have much emotional communication except to help his parents who were living in a difficult life. His artistic talents could not be released, and his overly melancholy personality was incompatible with his classmates at school. He lived an unhappy life. Until the appearance of that girl, she was equally eccentric and incompatible with other people, but she was more unrestrained, and her mind was always filled with all kinds of whimsy. He runs faster than the boys in the class, looks like a punk, never cares what others think of him, and has a unique personality. The two came together because of their personalities, and they collided because of their differences in personalities, and they became best friends. In a virtual kingdom that belongs only to the two of them, they are free and free to release their emotions. Children's communication is pure, adults get together to talk about stocks, income, career, life or failure, this is their language; children get together, fairy tales, magic, own country, is another kind of communication, Only they can truly understand. After watching this movie, I became more and more convinced that children's eyes are so different from adults' eyes, just as they belong to the fantasy land of two children in the movie. There is happiness, pain, twists and turns, and even battles, but the ending is always happy and everyone can be happy. This is the world of innocence, this is the world only for children. When you grow up, you will eventually leave this place and never come back. When we look back, perhaps there is only infinite melancholy nostalgia left in our hearts.
The image of the little girl in the film is so happy and so unexpected, running unrestrained in the illusory magic forest, feeling so free, that I have always regarded it as a fictionalized little boy to heal his inner loneliness. The partner is the child's imaginary friend. This idea has been lingering in her mind since she appeared on the stage, and even the appearance of her parents did not weaken the idea. But in the end, the news of the little girl drowning came. She disappeared until the end of the film and never came back. Seeing the rope that left half alone hanging on the river, at this time, I really believed in the real existence of this character. It's somewhat ironic, but how can we simply distinguish between the real and the unreal in a film that depicts a child's upbringing.
"Bridge to Wonderland" is not only a story about children, but also a story about entering a child's world and depicting and understanding the world from a child's standpoint. The fantasy in it is beautiful, and the story is pure. The sudden departure of the little girl may make people sigh, but at the end of the film, when the little boy builds a wooden bridge over the river where the two of them have traveled countless times, When we took our sister into the forest full of life, we would rather believe that the little girl did not actually die, she just returned to her magical castle forever and never came back!
