I really like the multi-line narrative of the movie, especially the part of Via. In addition to paying attention to Auggie, the movie also pays attention to his parents, sisters, and friends around him. The relationship between people is a network, even the "special" Auggie is not the center of the world. Everyone's attitude towards Auggie, the process of getting along with Auggie, getting close, estranged, and reconciling, is also a growth topic that everyone has to face.
Coincidentally, not long before I watched "Wonder", I happened to watch "Our World" in South Korea. Both films touched on the topic of "bullying" and "isolation" on campus. On the basis that both films have idealized schools, teachers, and parents, "Wonder" is a hundred times clearer than "Our World".
Auggie was isolated because of his physical disability, and Li Shan was isolated because he was poor and spoke inappropriately. Being beautiful in real life and having good grades can also be a reason to be isolated. In fact, being isolated just a little is enough, that is, being different from most people. Auggie had Jack and Summer to stand up for him at key moments, and eventually win the friendship of almost everyone. However, Li Shan was isolated from the beginning to the end. The only friend he had made was forced to stand in line, and the friendship he had gained was lost. The two hurt each other through misunderstanding and were finally isolated together. Although I don't want to believe it, this result is obviously more realistic.
Are there miracles in our world?
