Buried alive

Saw a super shocking movie last night and honestly admired that I could watch it from start to finish. The production of the movie is very simple, only one actor and a coffin are needed, and the plot of more than 90 minutes unfolds, which profoundly depicts the man's mental journey from loneliness to despair. Of course, there was also a lighter, a lamp, a knife, a mobile phone, and a snake that forgot to mention.
I have always believed that the most important thing in a movie is creativity, so I prefer the latter to Hollywood blockbusters and low-budget movies. Empty 3D special effects adorn my sight, but they can't fill my inner longing. The seemingly boring and monotonous scene gave the plot countless possibilities to develop. It's my favorite way to watch movies while following the pace of the film with heavy breathing, while using the information to run through the brain. Undoubtedly, the Spanish director is a success, brilliantly interpreting a one-man film. This is a big test for the actor's acting skills. He must truly show his various complex emotional experiences in a desperate situation - or anger, or helplessness, or disappointment, or sadness, or fear, or despair. I think the interpretation of Paul's actor Ryan Reynolds is also in place, at least my emotions are pulled up and down by him.
Regarding the ending, everyone expressed different opinions. Personally, I think there is no doubt that the male protagonist was buried alive, and he passed away with regret. Whether or not Dan has sent a rescue team has become the focus of the discussion: one view is that Dan sent a rescue team, led by a terrorist, and found the coffin, but unfortunately it was not the location of the male protagonist, but another victim Mark Yes, before Dan made up a lie about the success of Mark's rescue; another point of view is that Dan just used the voice from the tape recorder in his office to pretend to comfort Paul. In fact, everything was fake, and no one would come to rescue him, because they didn't Extortion threats from terrorists are commonplace. At first, I was more willing to support the latter, because then the theme of the film was established, revealing the ugly and dark side of the US government, and the so-called humanitarian spirit is insignificant in front of the national image. Like the Shutter Island conspiracy theory, I'm more open to the dark side. But the more I think about it, the more I find that my position is shaking. The US government will definitely take a series of actions because of the videos on the website. Although it is passive, otherwise, what is the human nature? ? An interesting idea is that Dan and the others found Mark, who was buried alive two weeks ago, indicating that the next extortion case will find Paul's body. In this cycle, no one will come out alive.
The film actually revealed to us some very profound contents. As an innocent American citizen, Paul was a victim, a victim of the wars in the United States and Iraq. Terrorists are not completely inexorable. They lost their homes in unjust wars and faced the pain of ruining their families. This is their silent accusation. Last but not least, if I waited for the Great Heavenly Dynasty to make such a film, it would have been blocked long ago, so the United States is still relatively democratic!
