"If this wild heart is sincere, fight for your dreams."

— "My heart is wild"

David movie movies always There are countless people cursing, countless people loving it. I am honored that I belong to the latter. Lynch himself said that he didn't like shooting road movies because he didn't like camera cars.
But "My Heart is Wild" has finally become a classic road movie, a complete love story, a drama about psychological drama and violent expression.

This is a flight full of death, but the more depraved, the happier escape.
Seiler and Lola are a pair of young men and women who love each other. In order to avoid the opposition of Lola's mother, they prepared to elope to California, the land of their freedom. Their journey began with Saylor teaching a black man who molested Lola in a bar, and violence and crime never left. All kinds of social crimes, murders, corpses on the radio, Loli always hears women's screams, black witches flying in the air, couples in car accidents, all kinds of weird residents in the small town. Coupled with the identity of the hero and heroine, Thaler is a murderer who is accustomed to solving problems with violence, and Lola is raped by her father's partner.
All this is so absurd.
And all this is exactly what the director saw in American society at that time.
——Chaos, lack of order, and restless 90s.
The director uses distorted pictures and psychedelic music to outline a world that seems more cruel than reality. In fact, he is telling everyone that these come from the real world. All kinds of crimes and psychopaths and distortions are all around you, and the real cruelty is far higher than the imagination of the movie.
Sex is very beautiful in this movie. Seiler and Lola are in love, no matter what the situation, they still love each other deeply. And crazy sex is their way of communication. As Laura said, "She can feel them standing on the Rainbow Bridge."
This may be the director's way of expressing romance. No matter what kind of social environment, true love will always exist.
So at the end of the film, Lynch did not follow the original novel. He let Thaler see the "good witch", so he became stronger and chose to be with Lola.

3

There are scenes of "fire" in the film many times. For example, his father who was in pain by the fire, the car that ignited in a car accident, and the close-up of Seiler smoking and setting fire.
The fire symbolizes the passionate feelings between Seiler and Lola, but also heralds all kinds of instability and threats.
Lola is a strong female character. In the face of previous unpleasant experiences and her mother, she has always used her own way to adhere to the ideal of love. At the same time, she is a hedonistic woman. ——The scene with Bobby Peru's unparalleled beauty is not so much Bobby Peru's rape, as it is Lola's failure to resist the temptation of men. So after that, she wept bitterly.
Seiler is a powerful man, he is used to solving problems with violence. He yearned for freedom, but he always respected Lola and put Lola in a relatively equal posture. He hoped to give Lola happiness, but he doubted himself. So at the end of the film, he just chose to leave Laura.
Such two people will inevitably experience a lot together, but in exchange for a stronger love.

4 The

entire movie is imprinted with a strong Lynch style as always.
Black, gloomy tone.
The pictures are weird and exaggerated but full of amazing imagination. Together with the jazz and rock music performed by Lynch himself, they construct a crazy world.
All this makes it difficult for the viewers to resist, but they are afraid of getting stuck in it.
