Overseas Network, July 2. According to Yonhap News Agency, the one-year investigation into the serial killings of Li Chunzai in Huacheng, South Korea, ended. The police announced the results of the investigation on the 2nd and found that Li Chunzai committed 23 crimes, killing 14 women, and raping and robbing 9 women. At this time, it has been 34 years since the first case of the Hwaseong serial murder case occurred. Regrettably, Li Chunzai's crime has expired retrospectively.

The Hwaseong serial homicides were 10 cases that occurred between September 1986 and April 1991, and were the most serious mass murders in South Korea. The victims were all women, ranging in age from their teens to their 70s. The case was adapted into the movie Memories of Murder.
In the Hwaseong serial murder case, the eighth case is slightly different from the other cases and has been identified as a copycat crime. South Korean police busted and captured Yoon in 1989. Yin was released in 2009 after serving 20 years in prison.

However, in fact, these 10 cases were all committed by Li Chunzai.
Li Chunzai was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of his wife and sister in January 1994. In August 2019, the police found that his DNA was consistent with the DNA of the evidence in the three Hwaseong homicide cases, so he was identified as a suspect in the case and was in prison. He was interrogated more than 10 times, and Li Chunzai confessed the facts of the crime.

On the other hand, Yin Mou, who was arrested that year, said that he made false statements under the compulsory investigation of the police and asked the case to be reopened.
On July 2, South Korea's Gyeonggi-do Southern Regional Police Commissioner Pei Yongzhu said that he apologized to the victims of the unreasonable police investigation in the Li Chunzai case.
