spoil the masterpiece

If there is a must-see in American animation, then "Peerless Magical Powers" must not be missed. It is a rare American animation work with Oriental Shen Yun. However, the movie "The Last Airbender", which was adapted from the animation, is the Buddha's head, which ruined the original work.

The first intolerable part of The Last Airbender is the casting. Compared with the little monk in the animation, the movie's Ann looks like a simple-minded, pampered rich boy. Although barely pretending to be responsible and compassionate, the young actor's performance was blunt and lost in form and spirit. The little girl who plays Katara is quite close to the animation prototype, and people also seem to have aura, which is acceptable. Brother Sokha is too American, opening his mouth and talking like a high school student in "American Pie". As for the people of Fire Nation and others, Indian Asan, who voted for a large number of votes, thought that this would be enough for the East, but they did not know that Indians had a round face and a darker complexion, but they were an anomaly of the Oriental race. And General Ailong with deep eyes for rhinoplasty is a typical Gaul face, and it is even more nondescript among a bunch of Asan.

The characters in the animation are 2-dimensional and flat, and there is no difference between the East and the West, or the sense of difference is not strong. When it comes to live-action movies, the racial characteristics of the actors' appearance are unavoidable, and there is obviously no proper remedy in terms of makeup. Compared with animation, the oriental atmosphere is 108,000 miles away.

Another admirable aspect of the animation "Peerless Magic" is its action design. The original animation does not necessarily have in-depth research on Chinese kung fu or fighting. What is commendable is that when the characters make moves, the movements are never repeated. This can be done because the animation cleverly uses the environment to allow characters to make different attacks and defenses in different terrains and situations. Although there are only four elements of fire, earth, fire and air, they change according to the situation, and it also changes into a complicated and endless fighting scene.

The advantage of animation is that the scene can be drawn as long as you want it. But the budget for filming is limited, and it’s impossible to create scenes at will. Without the environment, which can be used as a factor, the weakness of the action design is fully revealed, and the scene of the equipment fight is like playing a family. In the scene where Prince Zuk rescued Ann, a pair of knives fought against the fire soldiers. Magic special effects, except for the last monstrous wave, it is a complete homework, and the performance of the four elements is lackluster. As the protagonist's only Qi Zong successor, An, tossing and turning the trick is to play Tai Chi Yunshou, and then a gust of wind "hu" blows the opponent away. If the fighting scene in the animation is ten points, the movie can be given two points, one point is someone is making a move, and one point is someone who has made a move.

The movie ends at the Aqua Guard battle, and the plot progress is exactly the content of the animation Water Scroll, but the scenes of many characters have been deleted. For example, in the animation, General Ailong is a humorous and lovely old man, but when it comes to the movie, he is completely reduced to a dispensable trick. Although the deletion is necessary, as an avid fan of the original animation, many things that are worth recalling have not appeared on the screen, which is somewhat a pity in my heart.

At the end of the movie, Princess Azura appeared (extra spit, there are no more actresses in Hollywood to choose, did you choose such a one?), which is a foreshadowing for the next sequel. However, whether the sequel can be shot or not depends to a large extent on the box office situation of the first film. Due to various shortcomings, the film is far less successful than the original animation. For the sake of the investors' pockets and the mood of the fans, the second part should not be filmed.
