When I haven't seen this movie, just looking at the title, I thought it was a horror movie. So I never dared to see it.
But after reading it, I was really surprised by the interlocking plot and strict logic. I have to say that the details really determine success or failure.
"Goodman" she is really a very good at psychological induction. In the play, she put forward a metaphor, a man hanged himself in an empty firewood room, three meters off the ground, ask him how he did it. The answer is that the deceased put a large block of ice on the soles of his feet. And then she said to the male protagonist, this is your firewood house. You have to quickly find ice to put your feet on so you don't get strangled. The male protagonist desperately wanted to find the "ice cube". He could only pin his hopes on Goodman, a big ice cube, but he didn't expect Goodman to be a hollow ice cube. He stepped on it and waited. All he has is death. The poor male protagonist thought he was in control of the overall situation, and even tested Goodman's ability, thinking that he was digging a hole for Goodman, but in fact Goodman was digging a deeper and bigger hole for him. Goodman kept seducing the male protagonist to confess, first to deceive the male protagonist's trust, constantly emphasizing the urgency of time, making the male protagonist unwilling to think, and then boasting of his ability, saying that he had never fought a losing case. Moreover, when Goodman actually knew all the truth, she pretended to be her own reasoning, so that the male protagonist further believed in her ability. In the end, she suggested that if she wanted to get rid of the murder of Laura, she had to admit to killing Daniel, but she could put the blame on Laura, as long as she told Goodman where the car was sinking. . . But in fact, we learned later that Goodman never cared about Laura's case, but to get him to admit that he killed Daniel, her son. The male protagonist was also deceived round and round, telling the person in charge that Goodman is very professional and can be trusted, and even thanked her.
The male protagonist Adrian, a typical "elite", he is arrogant and selfish, cold-blooded and cruel, everything is self-centered, in the film, Adrian once mentioned that he thinks Laura is a cold-blooded person . But at the end of the day, I realized that he was the most terrifying one. But it was his arrogance and ego that ruined him, his belief that money could solve everything, that they tended to forget that they were at a disadvantage. In order to keep his fame and fortune, he did not hesitate to destroy two innocent lives. He kept repeating "what I have used for ten years cannot be destroyed like this". But it is because of his unchanging egoism and unrepentant attitude. It was the last knife that killed him.
This film is like an onion, layer upon layer, reversed layer by layer, progressive layer by layer, and the tones of the memory part are grayish, creating a desolate and depressing atmosphere. Slowly revealing the darkness and uncertainty of human nature.
