The 1950's black and white film, without gorgeous sets and special effects, the actors perform more like a stage play. It seems a little exaggerated now. Compared with the original novel, the plot has changed a lot. The plot of the original writer and the old woman is reflected at the end of the film. After the story is finished, the three people debate about the child. But they are all naked revelations of human nature.
The narrative mode of Rashomon has been widely imitated and used since then. Provide a story with no truth, multiple versions and multiple interpretations. The most recent example is last year's "Youth Pie".
However, to watch it in the 21st century, there have been many dark, grandstanding, and visually shocking films for so many years. Looking at this film now, it seems a little surprising.
