A relatively decent monster movie

I would like to say the following

1. The base, which cost hundreds of millions of dollars, finally played the biggest role of the base and did not collapse.

2. Finally, there is no villain in the whole film. Even the boss did not abandon others. He will also throw ladders to his teammates who fall into the water at critical moments, instead of hiding in fright like in previous movies. And later I thought about killing the megalodon instead of catching it alive to make money.

3. It's good that there isn't too much senseless sensationalism.

4. Although the emotional scenes made me confused, Li Bingbing felt excited when she saw Guo Da's body. Although this made me rather dazed, fortunately there were not many emotional scenes in the whole film, so I could accept it.

5. You are obviously the top professionals in the world, why are you not so professional when handling things?

6. Wouldn't the megalodon be tired from running around in order to eat one or two people? There are a lot of easy-to-eat delicacies in the ocean. Why do you keep chasing after humans? I feel that it is telling me to give up the big meal at hand, run 5 kilometers, and eat a pea thrown on the ground.

7. I was afraid of the megalodon jumping up and biting down the helicopter. Fortunately not.

8. Li Bingbing is much prettier than Fan Bingbing.

The Meg quotes

  • [first lines]

Jonas Taylor: [on radio] Look at the sonar. Let me know what you find.

D'Angelo: So far nothing new, my friend. It just keeps getting worse.

  • Dr. Minway Zhang: Since 1875 we've all believed the Mariana Trench was the deepest place on Earth. I've had a theory that we think is the bottom might actually be a layer if hydrogen sulfide. Beneath that cloud, and a freezing cold thermocline there could be a completely different world.

    Jack Morris: Wow.

Suyin: The Origin is about to see if my father is right. If there is warm water below, that means we're going to be the first to see it.

Jack Morris: And what if you're wrong?

Dr. Minway Zhang: Then you have wasted $1.3 billion.

Jack Morris: [laughs] You're kidding. He's kidding, right?
