A brain-dead drama with a sci-fi coat

To be honest, I was still looking forward to this film before I walked into the theater: the upside-down world setting is quite innovative, and it is presented with 3D visual effects, which must be very shocking (at least the trailer looks very sensible) . However, after 100 minutes of watching the movie, I discovered that apart from the world setting and the beautiful picture, the film can be described as nothing.

Let me talk about the world setting that makes me look forward to. Double world, double gravity, upside down, rich and poor. I still like this setting, although from the physical level, there are countless holes in the film, such as why the inverse matter from another world heats up but the human body does not. For those from another world, he is in In the reverse world, is it upside down or upright? If the two worlds are both planets, then this inversion of the mirror image cannot extend to the entire world, and so on. But I am more tolerant of this. After all, the core of this setting is actually an allusion to social and economic class opposition. The construction of the physical level, to put it bluntly, is nothing but a visually stunning way of presenting the polarization of the rich and the poor in the social hierarchy. However, I would also like to say that it is not the first time this has been presented using science fiction techniques. Farther, there are Shalem and Scrap Iron Town in "Gunmen"; closer, "Total Recall", which was released a few months ago, talks about the same thing. Of course, as long as you perform well, this story structure can still be very promising.

However, the fact is that in addition to using very contrasting methods to describe the sharp contrast between the two worlds, the screenwriter and director have hardly made enough explanations for this setting, let alone deeply dig into its core meaning. . Where does the huge gap between the two worlds come from? How are the rules for prohibiting contact between the upper and lower worlds formulated? What kind of entity is the transboundary layer? Hasn't this blatant exploitation of the upper world aroused resistance from the lower world? It's a pity that these are all missing in the film. The screenwriter seems to have no intention of such problems at all, but just wants to tell the audience: the male and female protagonists from different worlds love each other. Well, maybe my expectations are too high. People just want to make a sci-fi packaged romantic drama. This is not impossible. But even so, you should take good shots, but what did the film look like!

At the beginning, the childhood sweethearts, feelings gradually came into being, intolerable in the world, the two worlds are separated, both are quite decent. But as the hero re-recognizes the heroine, the plot begins to slide towards collapse. On one side is dreaming, on the other side? Amnesia? Will there be Koreans in the co-productions of this film? But when I saw that the female protagonist was actually having a simple appointment with the male protagonist, and all the memories were restored automatically in one night, I thought that even the Koreans would shook their heads at such a plot. Then the two of them had a romantic relationship on the sacred mountain, and they were disrupted by the inspection team again ten years ago. Please, it's been so many years, why haven't you made any progress? The only difference is that there are more scenes of shooting and escaping. After reading it and reviewing it again, I realized that this tepid drama could actually be regarded as the climax of the whole show...

Then, it seemed that the protagonist was in a slump. Look at the time, not far from the end, how will the director end? However, although the climax is weak, the ridiculousness and speechlessness of the plot came to a climax at the end: anti-gravity liquid was invented, and the exchanges were random? Forget it, then the hero and the heroine met, the heroine said: "I'm pregnant", and then... happy ending? ! The class is eliminated, the society is harmonious, the two circles are equal, and the two sectors are equal, and then the subtitles are released... Although I think I am a very cultivated audience, at that moment I had to forcibly suppress my urge to scold my mother: "Your sister, what a cheating The end?" How could the heroine turn upside down to the lower realm? Oh, because I'm pregnant... But have you forgotten anything about the screenwriter? What about the hostility between the two worlds? What about the suffering lower class? What about the corporate empire that crushes the people? What about evil forces that shouldn't let go? Is it all solved because of one invention? Oh, that invention has been patented... It seems that the upper world is also a legal society where legitimate rights and interests are protected, and the cross-border is also a model company that abides by the law... But such a society can tolerate the two worlds at the beginning of the story. The disparity of injustice, and the indifference to it, why is this?

I originally thought that science fiction and setting were the jackets of the film, but unfortunately I was still wrong. For this film, the sci-fi world setting, the dualistic innuendo of reality, the dazzling visual effects, and even the feelings of the hero and the protagonist are all coats. Inside, there is only a lack of logic, paleness, hastily, and fools the audience. The plot of slag. To say that this film is far from the pure sensory film that Huxley once predicted in Brave New World, there is probably only the brain-disabled romanticism revealed in the screenwriter’s subconsciousness, the so-called universal value and the existing The blind optimism of the system and the superficial theory of technological progress are nothing more than. This is definitely a movie that is so bad that you will continue to regret it after watching it.

Finally, I still want to say, I really don’t understand how the heroine got pregnant. Could it be possible that two people can get pregnant by holding them in the air and rolling in the air on the icy and snowy sacred mountain? I can't talk about it anymore...
