Don't take this kind of film out to show your IQ (spoiler)

The basic plot is that the Prime Minister's autobiography uses a hidden poem to explain that the Prime Minister's wife is a CIA, so the Prime Minister has been used to cater to the United States. It seems that the main contradiction is to fight terrorism together with the United States. The first writer was silenced because he knew the secret. The second writer discovered the secret based on a few photos and Google, and told the Prime Minister's wife arrogantly, and then he was silenced again! Garbage plot, garbage shooting technique! If Blair was so mentally retarded, Britain would be doomed long ago! If the wife of the Prime Minister of the CIA just glanced at the manuscript and gave up the research without problems, would she still be an agent? In the end, the foreign minister jumped out and shouted a few words, knowing that the first writer who leaked the secret was murdered and indifferent, it was purely soy sauce! One star is too much for such a junk movie!

82/100. Fascinating, high-quality suspense with a truly unexpected ending. The fly in the ointment is that the rhythm of the whole film can not be consistent, and the meeting between Ivan and Robert Rycart at the end is superfluous. I love the series of short shots that describe Ivan's journey at the beginning, and the long shot that passes the note at the end is beautiful. No spoilers, but as one review said, Polanski gave himself a sigh of relief.

The Ghost Writer quotes

  • The Ghost: [reading the first words of Adam Lang's manuscript] "Langs are Scottish folk originally and proud of it. Our name is a derivation of 'long', the Old English word for tall, and it is from North of the border that my forefathers hail." Fuuuck.

  • Amelia Bly: How's it going?

The Ghost: [beaming] Pretty well. He keeps calling me 'man'!

Amelia Bly: He always does that when he can't remember someone's name.
