Behind the war and religion is the struggle between human nature and destiny---a different anti-war theme "Scorched Earth City"

Laila 2022-04-20 09:01:40

The distortion of human nature by war, the imprisonment of freedom of thought by religious belief, the anger of vengeance, and the fate of wrongdoing. The director focuses on the big picture and writes from the small, taking the 15-year civil war in Lebanon as the background, and the life experience of a ill-fated and indignant mother as a clue, opening up the territory of religion, culture and history in the Middle East. The three major themes of love and hate, life and death, war and peace are all concentrated in this dusty past. The director asked the audience to watch the plot from the perspective of God, but the audience was still shocked by the truth of the ending. Don't read the spoiler, Respectfully sink down and enjoy this amazing work by Denis Villeneuve. The play was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards. The whole film presents various death scenes in war and conflict in an objective and calm way, without cool actions, exciting soundtracks, or hysterical performances. The real, unadorned naked presentation is even more shocking. You get a sense of an ideology that is totally anti-American blockbuster.

  • Notary Jean Lebel: Will of Mrs. Nawal Marwan... To Notary Jean Lebel: Bury me with no casket, no prayers, naked, face down, away from the world. Stone and epitaph. I want no gravestone, nor my name engraved anywhere. No epitaph for those who don't keep their promises. To Jeanne and Simon: Childhood is a knife stuck in your throat. It can't be easily removed. Jeanne, Mr Lebel will give you an envelope. The envelope is for your father. Find him, and give it to him. Simon, the notary will give you an envelope... The envelope is for your brother. Find him, and give him the envelope. When the envelopes have been delivered you will be given a letter. The silence will be broken, a promise kept, and you can place a stone on my grave and on it engrave my name in the sun.
