Happiness and misfortune in life

What attracted me at first were the words "suspenseful", "unbelievable", "calm with despair" in the comments... I opened the film with a curious mind. The story is presented through two lines, revolving around the mother's will, told from the children's perspective and the mother's perspective. Although it is suspenseful, in fact, the pictures in the entire film are flat as water, without major ups and downs, and can even be described as "quiet". Quietly giving birth, quietly tortured, and quietly dying, without hoarseness, like the drop of hope dripping into the sea of despair, silently, but not to be ignored. In my opinion, the sublimation of the whole film is the three letters left by the mother at the end, which makes it different from the "Oedipus the King" as we know it. I once thought that maybe the mother should choose to remain silent, so that the dignity and dignity of all people are maintained, and it seems to be the best ending for everyone. But then I realized that I was wrong, and it was the full disclosure of the final truth that gave a woman the answer to her bumpy life search.

The best thing in the world is being together.

With a single word, the mother appeased all the sadness, remorse, and pain of her children.

In that war-torn era, in that country with only blood, tears and dust, after passing by death again and again, we finally met, which was the luckiest thing among all misfortunes.

I want no gravestone, nor my name engraved anywhere. No epitaph for those who don't keep their promises. To Jeanne and Simon: Childhood is a knife stuck in your throat. It can't be easily removed. Jeanne, Mr Lebel will give you an envelope. The envelope is for your father. Find him, and give it to him. Simon, the notary will give you an envelope... The envelope is for your brother.
