This is a collection of short films shot by American director Jim Jarmusch. The stories in the film are all about coffee and cigarettes that bring out the relationship between the characters in the story. The eleven stories in the whole movie seem to re-explain what is meant by "contradiction". Sometimes it exists between the characters, and sometimes it exists between the viewer's judgment of the film and the direction of the film itself.

The first story is surprisingly inexplicable. Two people who seem to only know each other’s names, one almost neurotic and the other almost dull, appeared at a coffee table at the same time; one madly used trembling hands to continuously deliver coffee to his mouth, the other passive Reflecting all the conditions in front of you. The strange thing is that when the passive person talks about being bored to see the dentist and the person opposite expresses an attitude of not disgusting to see the dentist, the passive person actively proposes to transfer the evidence of seeing the dentist to this person. The 10 short films since then have all reflected various contradictions, such as (Story 2, the story number is directly represented by a number from now on) The brothers and sisters who do not deal with each other have the same taste in music; (3) The two musicians should have an eager dialogue Because of one’s indifference and hasty end; (4) Two old brothers who are obsessed with cigarettes or obsessed with coffee each admonish each other to quit smoking and coffee; (5) An elegant beauty is constantly being regarded as possibly being in love with her service I bother to read the gun catalog; (6) A person who wants to reminisce with a friend whom he has not seen for a long time but is mistaken for something to ask for; (7) Lamenting that a cousin who has seen little hatred but only has blood connections; (8) A passionate cousin The young guy studied by Tesla was pointed out by a female partner who was basically indifferent to this; (9) the popular actor ignored the enthusiastic old actor who might be a cousin with him, until he found out that the person was a good friend with a famous director; (10) pay attention The members of the healthy Wudang rap group pointed out a serious and ridiculous throat treatment plan. For some reasons, Bill Murray, who was a waiter, seriously adopted the ridiculous plan; (11) The old middle class who yearned for upper-class life was content with the status quo. 'S companion proposed the idea of using coffee as champagne.

The director used a coffee table (black tea was used instead of coffee in Story 9) and cigarettes as tools to tell the human sense of self-protection that is not humorous enough. And every story contains ridicule of Hollywood culture. To be honest, the above story is very suitable for adaptation into a Chinese-style sketch.

RZA: Shit, I was just thinking about that. Check this out: you get some hydrogen peroxide...

Bill Murray: We got that for cuts and stuff.

RZA: ...take fifty percent hydrogen peroxide, fifty percent water. You gargle with it. Do *not* swallow. You spit it out. Don't swallow, Bill Murray.

GZA: And if that doesn't work, try oven cleaner.

Bill Murray: We got that in the back, too.

  • Tom: Well... we could go to Taco Bell if that's more your style.

Iggy: You callin' me a Taco Bell kind of guy?
