Jack found his grandfather Abel lying on the grass outside the house with his eyes gouged out. Before he died, Jack said to him: "Look for Emerson on the island, postcards, go back in time, 1943.9.3, that bird will meet. Explain everything." It turned out that the dog bit the screen door and the eyeball, and the grandfather died of a heart attack.
When Abel was very young, Jack often told him bedside stories. There were many children with special abilities in the stories, and the bird was the children's principal, Miss Pei. Jack came to the island according to the clues left by his grandfather and found the children's home. On September 3, 1943, the children's home was bombed by the German army and turned into ruins. But after entering the children's home, Jack finds that the children with special abilities and the principal Miss Pei who can transform into birds are all real.
Miss Pei: "I am called a streamer, and I can control time. We choose a safe place, a safe day, and create a time loop. A loop can be maintained for 24 hours, and the loop can be reset. This day can be lived again. Resetting every day will allow you to stay in this time loop forever and be isolated from the world. The job of the streamer is to protect these children with special abilities." Before reaching the castle, the headmaster lets time restart.
This special group split into factions. Baron expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that people with special abilities must live in the circle of time. He believed that by using the ability of the streamer, he and his followers could gain immortality without having to live in the circle. Barong and his gang kidnapped a streamer for testing, and after completing the test, not only did they not have immortality, but they all turned into hell hungry ghosts, a kind of invisible cold-blooded beasts. Barong found that after swallowing the eyes of people with special abilities, especially children, after reaching a certain number, hungry ghosts can revert to human form. Baron turned back into a human form by swallowing his eyes, and also had the ability to change his appearance at will. He disguised as Jack's mental hospital and followed Jack all the way to Miss Pei's time loop. Baron wanted to catch more streamers to continue the experiment and seek immortality.
Only people with special talents can enter the time loop. Jack's special ability is that only he and his grandfather can see the invisible hell hungry ghost. Without the streamer, the time loop will close and return to normal time.
Jack and the children fought against the Barong gang together, and rescued Miss Pei and other streamers. Finally, Happy ENDING, the bad guys were destroyed, Jack and grandfather's ex-girlfriend Emma came together.
The film is based on the first book of the 2011 best-selling novel of the same name.
The big mouth and sharp teeth behind the little girl Claire's head are scary enough.
The soundtrack of the skeleton soldiers fighting monsters in the playground is really good, it's not scary at all, it's so exciting and joyful.
Oliver's fire fight is no more than the freezing of Barong's companions. Is this a copy of Ace VS Aokiji?
The twins have the petrification effect of Medusa after revealing their terrifying true faces, which is too powerful.
The first part and the middle part were well done, but the duel scene between the special children and the Barong gang, which was supposed to be the climax, was too paediatric and collapsed all of a sudden.
Miss Pei's beauty and Emma's beauty support her appearance.
If I could watch a new movie every night instead of the children's dream projections, I'd be fine with this immortal day.
