The film does continue the creepy feeling of "The Shining", and the right decision is to change the ending of the novel, giving the audience the opportunity to follow Danny back to the hotel, to review and pay tribute to the classic scene again. One of the most memorable scenes, Jacob Tremblay's tortured part of a young boy, was unsightly and likely to make some viewers uncomfortable.
