The fantasy scenes in the film made me thumbs up at the director, but it seems that some paragraphs are used too much, and I feel that the necessary logical connection is lacking.
And there are a lot of ideas for the design of the director's paradise, but I really like the design of the pavilion.
I kind of want to read the original novel.
What impresses me the most now is Stanley Tucci, who is the first actor in my memory who can play a mentally ill person without any hint of madness. Can you imagine him playing a costume editor in "The Devil Wears Prada" or Aunt May's husband in "Jolie and Julia"? A weak diplomat? Playing an annoying executive in "Happy Terminal"? This should be the least star halo and the widest range of actors I've ever seen.
