Peter is famous for taking fantasy genres. His fantasy genre is actually quite satisfactory. If you have seen films like "Mirror Mask" by artists, you will know that as a director, he lacks artistic imagination. This is not criticism, because since it is not artistic, it is easy to please the public. I think he is similar to Spielberg: he is also serious about making commercial films, and he also earns word-of-mouth after making a box office. Like Speer, he is a director who has a strong grasp of the film as a whole.
The story is the soul of the film, and the beautiful post-production is just an aid. Everyone said that the film failed in the story. That's true, but it would have been much better if Peter could have jumped out of the fantasy genre and translated the depiction of the scene into the characters. The film spends a lot of time on the scenes and some on the characters, with the storyline interspersed, and the result is a fairly "balanced", but not outstanding, film without the focus.
However, the film aroused my interest in the original book, so today I downloaded Alice Sebold's original book "the lovely bones".
