Too many people can also hold you back

[Unfortunately: wasted creative point]
Today's commercial films have to be good at selling concepts, not only real people, but in animation projects, it is more important to create a concept. There has been a strange phenomenon recently, that is, all kinds of group drama platters have been launched one after another, and the popularity is not good. Well, "Guardian Alliance" is no exception.
It should be said that the creative point of the story of "Guardian Alliance" is still good. The Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Sand Man—four familiar fairy tale characters to Western audiences, they themselves have quite differentiated abilities and images, and at the same time, their identities are familiar to the people. play. As long as it follows the rhythm and number of ways of general commercial animation movies, plus some fancy three-dimensional technology, it is likely to be a good movie, at least, it will not be ugly.
In fact, this is not the case at all, and many people are holding them back.

[Macro: Messy structure, clues, and rhythm]
In terms of story, the entire movie can be described as a mess. Some basic and easy-to-recognize mistakes are actually shot in the film.
1. Is it a group portrait story or a single story?
It should be said that the balanced relationship between Frozen and the four guardians is a flaw in the film. If Frozen is the first protagonist, then the drama of the four guardians is too much, too procrastinating. It should be mainly about freezing people and children. The four guardians are just structural tricks and soy sauce. If it is a standard group show similar to "The Avengers", then the few scenes that are not painful for the group of children in it will undoubtedly dilute the confrontation between the pros and cons.

2. Is it the priority to write people's lyricism or to write about things?
The film begins with the frozen man Barabara, and sets up a subplot of "finding one's own memory", which is too contradictory to the concept of group play and preventing evil forces from winning the trust of children. It seriously weakened the audience's attention. Everyone was busy watching how to organize a bad guy conspiracy. Who cares about who you are? First, let's understand the beginning and end of the story, and then lyricize it easily. Conversely, if it is to write "Frozen People Half-Life", then the four guardians can be the protagonists of the four scenes, and don't run around tied together in the movie.

3. The rhythm is too slow
In the existing story mode, the rhythm is completely wrong. Frozen people are used as the title, and narration is also used. Why use narration? It should be to compress the event, explain the information, and finish the first 30 minutes of the film in a few words. For example, "My friend Santa Claus, he doesn't think the same as the children. In fact, it's a bad temper..." Just add a few life clips, and the rhythm and amount of information will come out all at once. The pace of the story is so slow right now, the motivating event doesn't come out until 30 minutes later, and the first 30 minutes aren't fun at all.

4. A lot of places are redundant and deleted. Unfortunately
, for example, the contradiction between Frozen and Rabbit, the audience didn't understand what the contradiction was. You can either talk about a few more minutes for a flashback or something, or just take those two people's conflicts. Contradictory reactions have been deleted and replaced with explosions and flying. For example, when children play snowball fights, what's the point of introducing a fat girl called Cake? The movie isn't about these kids. Another example is that the little boy's sister traveled to the guardian's side. Apart from playing for a while, she didn't do anything. She thought she was kidnapped or something. Frozen's memory of the first half of his life is the same. After a long time, does it mean that he saved his sister and good brother?

[Micro: Rough details and lack of laughs]
Actually, even if you make some macro mistakes, you can still watch cartoons as long as the micro is fun. For example, "Ice Age 4" has a lot of patchwork and problems with its structure, but it's funny. what. It's a pity that this "Guardian Alliance", the details are not very good.
1. There is a serious lack of
laughs. What a terrible thing it is for an animation without any laughs. It is a very, very regrettable thing that the entire film has almost no more than 10 laughs, and the audience watching it is extremely indifferent. Let's not say that the character is funny, even the language is not funny. For example, Frozen said that rabbits are kangaroos. I think it is a complete failure, and it has been repeated several times. It's no wonder that with such an ugly character, I can't think of any jokes related to the image.

2. The lines are dry. The
protagonist does not have any exciting personal declarations, the protagonists do not have any friendship and mutual encouragement, and the villains do not have any cute and ridiculous evil monologues. The children who play soy sauce are not too cute or distracting. It's impossible to keep a bit of classic lines for such a lively project. . . . . . Alas, do you let the translator take the blame again?

3. The performance is too formal.
Although the three-dimensional technology is good, it is actually like that. The dolphins, dinosaurs, and dinosaurs transformed by the sand people do not contribute to the plot at all except for the spectacle effect of flying around. In fact, the good action scenes in this movie, to put it bluntly, are flying around. They are basically some "cut scenes" of shuttle in the air. When it comes time to actually have action and lines, it will not work.

4. The art design is not coordinated at all
. Not to mention anything else. For an animation, the art is flawed. Except for the handsome silver-haired brother of the frozen man, what kind of art design is the rest. The Easter Bunny is fierce, I don't know if I think it's the villain. The tooth fairy is green and has scales, so people can't love it. Santa's tattoo is very cute, but unfortunately the beard is so bad that it covers too much of the face. Only the Sandman is cute, but for most of the movie, he's dead. As for the villain, um, the 3D-based animated film, don't you think he is too dark? . . . . .
