Different from the previous films with characters such as Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy as the protagonists, the story of "Guardian Alliance" subverts the parallel worlds that should have been overhead, allowing many fairy tale characters to form groups to protect children. This gives a teenage hero growth story that should have taken a stylized route more added value and visibility.
The film itself only slightly subverts the stereotyped images of characters such as Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and the Sand Man, and the taste is incomparable to the bold imagination of Shrek back then. But "subversion" is not the main theme of the film. The film creates the image of a "bad boy" Jack Frozen, so that this character completes the philosophical proposition of "Who am I? Where do I come from? Where do I go?" . The fateful hero's journey from rebellious to responsible, and then to finding himself is gratifying.
Although the core of the story of "Guardian Alliance" is traditional, with the addition of various fairy tale characters, people get different surprises while reliving their childhood dreams. Santa Claus with two knives, hummingbird-chic tooth fairy, mighty Easter bunny and gorgeous sand man are all visually refreshing. Jack Frozen, who was initially shown as a bad boy, is somewhat cynical compared to other characters. The visual effects formed by the magical freeze magic and various mischiefs amaze the imagination of Hollywood filmmakers.
I don't know if it's cultural inheritance or deliberate, but the villain Insect eater looks a lot like Voldemort. This gloomy figure was finally stripped off in public with the powerful will of the only child and the concerted efforts of the gods, and faded out of the picture as a pitiful creature.
The Guardians tells a rousing story with unbridled imagination and stunning visuals. There is no fierce discussion of right and wrong in the film, and there are no downright bad guys. The director has a good grasp of the tone of the film, encouraging the audience to keep their childlike innocence and use their will to make themselves strong. This film is not a movie for young and old. For teenagers, it is an inspirational pornographic film, and it will be too refreshing for adults. The 3D effect of the film is outstanding, but some copies in mainland China may have problems with conversion, and the focus of the front and rear backgrounds will be misaligned, making it uncomfortable to watch the film.
