Nothing but meat

This film seems to focus on all kinds of male sex, and the whole process is erotic and eye-catching; but there is nothing under the beautiful picture. What story does the director want to tell? The entanglement between gods and mortals? The resistance of a weak nation to a powerful hegemony? The director seems to be obsessed with showing off light, shadow and imagery, forgetting that a movie needs a good story after all.
If you go to the cinema, I strongly recommend "Iron Fist" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", which were released at the same time. These two films can bring you a very pleasant viewing experience; "Immortals" makes people feel that the director is cheating. It left a deep psychological shadow. . . . . . What is the psychological shadow? I'm sure the male viewers who have seen it know what I'm talking about. . . . .

Immortals quotes

  • Stavros: Hyperion's legions are gathering at Tartarus. That's where Hellenists will fall.

    Phaedra: That future's not set.

Stavros: But likely. It'll be a slaughter.

    Phaedra: You have no faith.

    Dareios: Heathens.

Stavros: That is true, Dareios. But not always. When I was just a boy, I prayed to the Gods, for a horse. The Gods never answered me. So I stole one, instead.

    Dareios: We're surrounded by heathens.

[Falls dead with a knife in his back]

  • Phaedra: To those whom much is given, much is taken away.
