behind the myth

Behind myths
Perhaps you should believe that all myths have a version of reality, and myths themselves are just stories passed down by word of mouth. The story is so good that you don't even think about whether it makes sense.
Beowulf is a famous hero who made a splash in the days when Odin was still the main god. He is invincible, God blocks and kills God, and Buddha blocks and kills Buddha. So when he heard that there were monsters raging, he went to earn that bounty as a matter of course. The trouble is, although the monster is not difficult to solve, the monster still has a mother. What's more, the mother of this monster can transform into a super beauty. How beautiful is it? Now the world's big directors seem to agree that Angelina Jolie is the most beautiful, OK, so she played it. Forget about Guangmei, she also promises you glory and wealth, and the price is for you to leave her a seed. Which man would miss such a beautiful thing? Therefore, it is almost certain that the hero is saddened by the beauty pass.
Beowulf returns to the king's palace and lies about having dealt with the monster's mother. Everyone believed it, except the king himself. The king knew how he became king, where the monster that was killed came from, and the truth behind Beowulf's lies. He laughed and announced that Beowulf could inherit all that he had when he died: the kingdom, the wealth, and his beautiful young queen. Then he jumped out of the palace window and let the cliff settle himself. To be honest, I originally hated that shameless old king, but now I appreciate him a little bit.
So Beowulf naturally became king. He has fame, courage, kingdoms, wealth and beauty, but why is he still unhappy? Maybe it's because he knows it's all based on lies. So when the token of his covenant with the Banshee—the beautiful golden dragon horn—was rediscovered and presented to him, he knew it might be over soon. Sure enough, the species he left in the past has grown up and become a new monster to wreak havoc again. The difference is that the monster this time is a majestic golden dragon, unlike the last time when it was just a stupid big giant who was not good enough, and it seems to be stunted. So, prenatal and postnatal care is very important. Beowulf will not sit back and watch all this, although he has lied, but he is still an uncompromising hero, so he reappears in battle to kill demons and demons. The battle was a mess. For specific shots, please refer to "Heroes of Invincibility" and "Warcraft".
In the end, Beowulf and the monster perished together, and finally repaid his debt. His successor, despite knowing the truth, still celebrates him as a mythical hero.
Simply put, this film basically says: There may be different facts behind legends and myths. Facts don't really matter, what matters is what people want and choose to believe. Different times have different beliefs, so different times must have different myths. But what I want to explore more deeply is not this, nor the grand scenes and exquisite special effects of this film, but an intriguing theme hidden behind this film: the conflict between two generations.
The two monsters are the sons of two generations of kings and banshees. Of course, having a son with a banshee is very beneficial. First of all, you can get glory and wealth, and secondly, you don't have to raise a son. The disadvantage is also obvious: this son will grow up to make waves and destroy everything for the king. In the end, both the king and his son died, only the banshee remained unscathed and continued to seduce the next king. The legitimate wives of kings never gave birth to sons, and their only offspring were monsters. What's interesting is that the monster sons are all spoilers as debt collectors, and the king's father never intends to kill the monster son. Banshee mothers don't care if their sons live or die, they are just her tools. This terrifying ethical logic can be summed up as follows: ①Father and son are natural enemies, and in the end they will die; ②The love and misdeeds will eventually be repaid; ③The relationship between mother and child is to use and be used. Although scary, many relationships between the previous generation and the next generation are basically like this, and it is not a ladyboy love. It can be seen that people have lost their humanity, and they are no different from demons. It is definitely not what Tang Seng, the great king of Luosuo, said, that the difference between people and demons is that people are born of life, and demons are born of demons.
Finally, let's talk about the special level of this film. It is really good and realistic, but the fighting scenes are too close to the game, so that sometimes I get a little distracted - subconsciously touch the mouse. What's more, Angelina Jolie's figure is really good. She played a banshee, and she didn't make many appearances, but the effect was very good, which was extremely impressive. A typical four or two dials a thousand pounds!

Beowulf quotes

  • Unferth: Good night, Beowulf. Watch out for sea monsters. I'm sure your imagination must be teeming with them.

  • Yrsa: They say he ripped the monster's limb off with his bare hands.

Gitte: [giggles] I wonder if Beowulf's strength is only in his arms, or in his legs as well... all three of them

    [both giggle]

Wealthow: Well, after the feast tonight I'm sure you can find out, Gitte.

Gitte: Me? It's not me he wants, my queen.
